We Have an Exciting Company Announcement: BlueSky Personnel Solutions is Moving to a 4-Day Work Week

As we settle into this new year, we’re excited to share with you that starting January 13th, 2023, our company is moving to a 4-day work week. Our working hours will span across the week from Monday to Thursday, allowing our staff to take Fridays off.
Rest assured that through this transition we will, of course, make sure your needs as our client, are fully met and even exceeded. We will continue to monitor our emails, respond to your requests, and continue facilitating interviews scheduling and so on. This is our #1 commitment to you.
I’ve personally been pondering this operational change for quite some time. In fact, back in 2019, I’d even written on our blog about predictions from experts and how the 4-day work week trend was poised to become a new norm.
We saw it coming and ever since then, we’ve been closely monitoring both worldwide trends and what’s happening right here at home. We studied how such moves impacted service levels and businesses in general. And overwhelmingly, the data shows the move to a 4-day work week has been both strategic and smart on many levels for Canadian and international employers alike.
Just this past month, Human Resources Director Canada and Macleans reported on a large global pilot program that tested the 4-day workweek model (and it included Canadian representation). The program was touted to be a huge success, and in the end, all of the participating companies reported that they will not be returning to a 5-day work week.
These employers who gave their staff one day off per week without affecting their salaries, saw their revenues increase, and resignations and absenteeism decrease. Employee also felt more satisfaction in life generally-speaking. It was a win-win all around.
Our decision is rooted in our company’s core values of trust, integrity, and relationship-building. These three values guide how we service our clients, and I’m so proud to say, they also guide how we build our employee experience.

This is my intention for our staff too, and it is the impetus behind today’s announcement.
